DIY projects can be extremely beneficial if they’re done right! But we’ve all tried a recipe or something we found online that just didn’t work out the way it was supposed to. When it comes to pest control, there are definitely DIYs that could be helpful – but is it worth it?
Risk of Disease
Rodents are notorious for caring a multitude of diseases and illnesses that can be harmful or even deadly to us. While DIY might save us a few bucks, it won’t save us from possibly coming into contact with hantavirus or lymphocytic choriomeningitis. Knowing the right equipment and safety procedures can save your home or office from contracting any harmful illnesses!
Chemicals
It’s easy to pick up poison or a chemical from the store that promises pest eradication, but if you don’t know how to use it properly, you could be causing yourself more harm than good! Using chemicals to remove pests from your property is absolutely an option, however, the possibility of those chemicals coming into contact with pets, children or even yourself isn’t worth the money you save doing it yourself. Before you buy anything, make sure you’re versed in how to use it properly!
You Can’t DIY Expertise!
As much as you might study and research the methods of pest control, it won’t be equivalent to the training and knowledge base of a professional pest control company. Having the experience gives us the upper hand against pests as we know what to look for, what to use and how to use it safely. While it’s thrilling to complete something on your own, keep in mind that it’s not a failure to call an expert! You’re not supposed to know the ins and outs of pest control – we are!
It is rewarding to do the job yourself, but if you’re not 100% sure of what you’re doing, please give us a call! The last thing you need to introduce your home or business to is more illness. If you’re dealing with a pest problem, give our team a call at 403-262-1666 and we’ll be happy to make your space a pest-free zone!
